Balholm Apple Brandy 6666
In the 1800s Henrik Forman planted 6666 apple trees on Stedje farm in Sogndal. At times the harvest was so big that they could pay their yearly taxes with fruit. Today apple brandy is best known as French Calvados, German Obstler, or English Apple Brandy. Balholm Apple Brandy is distilled from a mixture of around 20 apple varieties, and we use the whole fruit, including the skin and pulp, to create a distinctive apple aroma that is integrated with a touch of oak after storage in French barrels. This beverage can be enjoyed together with coffee, dessert, cakes, and fruit, or paired with white meat. Golden color, 40% vol, 50 cl. Vinmonopolet Basisutvalget EPD number 4339701 |

Sogn Aqua Vitae - Organic Apple Brandy With Caraway Seeds Sogn Aqua Vitae is distilled from cider of select apple varieties grown organically in the orchard by the Cider House. Aqua Vitae (the water of life) was in medieval times the common name for all types of liquor. In Sogn we grew apples 600 years before the potato came to the country, and it is therefore natural to use apples and not earth-apples (potatoes) when making spirits. After a short aging period in French oak barrels, it becomes a culinary liquor with a mild apple aroma and a light touch of cumin and dry vanilla. It pairs well with fish, white meat, lamb, and beef. Blackcurrant Grappa Blackcurrant squash and jam were made in almost all homes in the past. Today we know that blackcurrants contain a great deal of vitamin C and antioxidants, in addition to their great aroma. Balholm Blackcurrant Eau-de-vie is distilled from whole blackcurrants, including the stem. The result is a distinctive blackcurrant aroma, and an herb-like grappa taste that fits into many of the same food pairings as aqua vitae, or as the basis for fruit drinks—especially blackcurrant toddy!
